History: Established in 2000, partially opened in 2006, fully opened in 2008 with the completion of RV facilities, this is the first and only state park in El Paso County. The park has quickly become a haven for RV’ers, birders, joggers, bikers, hikers, archers and equestrians. The Archery Range was opened in 2015 and has become a haven for our local archers. The  trail to the top of Cheyenne Mountain, the Dixon Trail, is currently under construction. The 3.6 mile loop on top of Cheyenne Mountain is complete and will be open to the public as soon as the Dixon Trail is complete.
